What is Randomizer? Randomizer 4 is a mod for Hollow Knight that swaps around item placements in the game. The randomization is not purely random; instead, the randomizer has complex logic that works behind the scenes to ensure that all items can be reached and obtained.
There are many ways to enjoy rando. Randomizer may be played to THK ending or TE to start. Some people add on extra randomization settings through randomizer connections to spice up their gameplay. Others start racing randomizer once they are comfortable with the items and locations, and think that they can finish seeds reliably. All in all, there is no "correct" way to enjoy playing rando and you are encouraged to experiment with settings, connections, end goals, and racing formats to find what you like most!

Happy new year everygrubby!!! The Hollow Knight 8th anniversary is coming up and we're finalizing a schedule for our event. Rando Day will be on Thursday, February 20th, Meme Day will be on Friday, February 21th, and Main Day will be on Saturday, February 22th. You can read all about it on the HK8Y event page! Come celebrate and share our love with rando with us yippee!

The 2024 Blackout True Ending randomizer tournament is over! Thank you so much to everyone who participated; it was a ton of fun...even if we're all completely burnt out of BOTE now. If you missed any of matches or want to rewatch any of your faves, the entire tournament is now highlighted on our community Twitch channel and you can find the matches in this collection.

A new rando mod, UnRando, has been released! UnRando fixes the order of items that the player receives. This means that no matter which order you pick up checks in, you'll always get the first item first, the second item second, the third item third...This makes it really nice for racers that want their races to be a test of speed instead of luck. Yippee!
